Why Microgreens?
For starters, they’re delicious! Usually harvested within a couple weeks of sowing, microgreens are packed with the most vibrant version of the plants’ flavor. They are a superfood and research has shown that they are 4-40 times as nutritious as the fully mature version of the plant. Best eaten fresh, Briarwood Farm microgreens are grown in a controlled environment which makes them a local crop that is always in season.

Beyond Organic.
Briarwood Farm uses only certified organic seeds, as well as growing mediums and nutrients produced without any nasty stuff. We water our crops with ultra-pure water produced by a reverse osmosis water filtration system.
Micro Farm
We designed our micro farm and process with our customers’ health in mind, which is why we use a NSF-certified stainless steel sink, grow racks, and harvesting equipment while adhering to strict good agricultural practices. We designed our micro farm with the planet in mind as well, which is why we use Energy Star appliances, LED lights, and reusable glass containers delivered by bike or hybrid vehicle.

Delivery.
How it Works.
We offer bi-weekly (every other week) or monthly subscriptions called The Briarwood Bounty, which allows us to grow-to-order so nothing goes to waste. On harvest day, we package up your order in reusable glass containers or compostable clamshells. The very next day we load up the bike trailer and ride your order straight to you. We also accept one-time orders, but it may take up to 2 weeks to receive depending on availability.
Our subscribers receive their microgreens in reusable glass food storage containers, which reduces single-use packaging and preserves the life of the greens. One-time orders are packaged in compostable clamshells.

Briarwood Farm was born during the COVID-19 pandemic from the idea that people deserve access to fresh, nutritious, locally-grown food without risk. We provide a no-contact delivery service to bring our fresh harvest straight to the community.
Briarwood Farm is the culmination of a long-held love for urban farming and a deeply-held passion for protecting the planet. It blends the ethos of the local food, zero waste, and climate movements in pursuit of a more resilient food system that is healthy for the planet and us people, too.
